She was bought in 1934 by Alan Villiers, who rescued her from the break up yards, and took her on a voyage around the globe. The Joseph Conrad now resides at Mystic Seaport in the US. This photo was taken by Alan Villiers, and appears in the book ‘Cruise of the Conrad’ by the same person. The photo was found among my late father-in-law’s belongings.
